S. Korean petrochem expansion

South Korea’s Yeochon NCC is to expand the capacities of its No 1 and 2 petrochemical complexes at Yeochon by 2% and 7%, respectively, in October and May, a company source has said. Their olefins and aromatics capacities are to be raised accordingly, he said. The expansion would include Yeochon’s crude C4 capacity, but not its butadiene unit. Its MTBE plant is also to be expanded, but styrene capacity would remain unchanged.
