Ruwa implements a digitization project on rolling mills

Ruwa Drahtschweißwerke AG has implemented a digitization project on rolling mills together with Kaltenbach.Solutions GmbH. The company now receives all evaluations digitally at a glance and without time delay. The exact measurement via IoT and the clear presentation help to make appropriate decisions with the aim of sustainably increasing performance.

Previously, the evaluations of the rolling mills were carried out manually, which involved more effort. In addition, the reports were only available with a time delay. This delay made both root cause analysis and subsequent performance management difficult. The rolling mills at Ruwa profile the steel wire delivered, giving it the structure needed for reinforcing steel.

Ruwa chose Kaltenbach.Solutions GmbH as the implementation partner for the digitalization project. By using the digital measuring device “BoosterBOX”, the actual performance is recorded during operation by means of IoT and clearly displayed in graphical user interfaces. With the associated “Timer App”, the wire thicknesses and the weight of the produced steel wire coils can also be recorded layer by layer. This gives Ruwa AG an exact overview of the performance of the connected rolling mills at all times and enables it to increase this performance step by step.
