Roland Junck visits MPI

British Steel has strengthened its ties with The Materials Processing Institute (MPI) after a visit by Executive Chairman Roland Junck.

Roland was given a tour of the Materials Processing Institute’s Middlesbrough campus by its CEO, Chris McDonald, which included the Institute’s specialist metals research laboratories and pilot plant facilities.

British Steel signed a landmark multi-million pound contract last year with The Materials Processing Institute. This will see MPI provide research and development for British Steel’s rail and construction products.

The visit also highlighted MPI’s long history of steel research and development and how it is supporting the steel industry as a whole through implementing new technologies and innovations in processes and materials to optimise performance and efficiency.
