RINA Group adds engineering expertise

The independent engineering consulting company of RINA Group, D’Appolonia is headquartered in Italy and has recently strengthened its expertise in the marine offshore oil and gas sector by acquiring a majority stake in SeaTech Srl.

SeaTech gives analysis, design services and also manages projects for offshore pipelines, subsea systems and structures, met-ocean monitoring systems and provides engineering supervision services on site. It also provides specialized engineering services to main contractors and major engineering companies operating in the oil and gas industry.

The SeaTech’s specialists worked for Saipem in the Blues Stream project that had the record for the installation water depth, 2150m, and was considered to be the first pipeline protected by polypropylene anticorrosion coating. In the year 2003 SeaTech performed its first design of subsea structures (FLETs and PLETs) on behalf of Saibos, for Kizomba B project. It was also involved in the Kashagan project, which is one of the largest reservoirs discovered.
