Revised edition of DIN EN 10217-7 standard published

Standards regulate the requirements for products and processes; they take into account the state of the art and ensure everyone’s safety. Standards are regularly reviewed in technical committees and updated according to current findings. BUTTING supports these processes with its expert knowledge. The revised edition of standard DIN EN 10217-7:2021-06 was published and includes substantial changes. This standard is of great importance to BUTTING and its customers because it manufactures many hundreds of thousands of meters of pipe for them every year.

Part 7 of DIN EN ISO 10217 contains the technical delivery conditions for welded pipes with a circular cross-section made from austenitic and austenitic-ferritic steels designed for pressure stresses and for corrosive media at room temperature, low temperatures and increased temperatures.

They are used as pressurized components in plant and power plant construction. Examples of use include the food and chemical industry.

The standard includes a far-reaching revision in terms of delivery conditions. Section 7 specifies the manufacturing process and the types of delivery condition. The update includes the delivery condition “pickled version” for welded pipes.
