Reducing & sizing block for Von Moos Stahl

Von Moos Stahl AG (Emmenbrücke, Switzerland), a Swiss Steel Group company dedicated to the manufacturing and processing of high grade, special and free-cutting steel, has decided to install a 3-roll reducing & sizing block supplied by Friedrich Kocks GmbH & Co. (Hilden, Germany). The new five-stand 370mm reducing & sizing block will be integrated in the existing bar mill as a finishing block for the current range of rounds from 13,7 to 57,0 mm for straight bar or bar-in-coil as well as for the equivalent hexagon dimensions. In addition, the three-roll RSB will supply all the required feeders for the wire block. By quickly changing between the
individual production lines, plant availability will be increased considerably. This is supported by an extended “free-size”-range of up to ± 1,5 mm from the nominal size, which permits rolling of a wide variety of sizes with tight tolerances by adjusting stands and guides only. Therefore, using a minimum number of roll sets and stand changes the reducing & sizing Block can roll any size. Commissioning is scheduled for August 2002.
