Razor blade steel price increase

Sandvik has announced that it will introduce a price increase of 15-20% on its stainless strip steel for razor blade manufacture with effect from 1st November 2007. Spiralling increases in raw material, fuel and energy costs have largely been absorbed over a long period of time, with little or no opportunity to adjust prices to end users. These costs coupled with increased carriage and distribution costs lie behind the announced price increase.
