Rautaruukki focuses on Duisburg

Rautaruukki is changing its sales organisation and restructuring its operations in Germany. The purpose of the changes is to boost the company’s competitiveness and reinforce its customer service in the important markets of Germany and Central Europe. The steel service company Rautaruukki Stahlservice GmbH located in Duisburg is being transferred from the Steel Service Division to the Rautaruukki Steel organisation. Rautaruukki wishes to develop the German steel service company as a logistics and processing centre particularly for the high-quality coated sheet products from Rautaruukki Steel’s new galvanising plant in Hämeenlinna. The personnel of Rautaruukki Deutschland GmbH, Rautaruukki Steel’s sales company located in Düsseldorf, and Fundia’s sales staff will move to Duisburg by the end of 2002. Juha Yrjänä, MSc (Eng.), has been appointed Managing Director of Rautaruukki Stahlservice GmbH and Rautaruukki (Deutschland) GmbH as from 1 March. Raimo Väisänen, MSc (Eng.), has been appointed technical director at Rautaruukki Stahlservice GmbH. Rautaruukki Metform has already transferred its sales personnel for tubular products from Düsseldorf to Sundern, where Carl Froh GmbH and Froh House Tech GmbH & Co KG, manufacturers of value-added tubular products, have their operations.
