RathGibson is prepared to meet Kuala Lumpur’s demand for high quality tubing for its new oil and gas fields. Kuala Lumpur and the surrounding area is the fastest growing economic area in Malaysia. The Asian Oil and Gas Conference held this past June in Kuala Lumpur revealed the extent of the demand for high quality tubing. In addition to the Royal Dutch Shell Oil project for the Gumusut and Kakap fields, a major upgrade for the Mahakam gas block on Kalimantan is also in the works. Even during this challenging economy, an investment is being made into improving oil and gas development. During the past five years, the growth of scientific research and development centers for discovering and sustaining existing oil reservoirs in this region has grown substantially. Oil and gas tubing supplied by RathGibson covers downhole applications such as control lines, chemical injection lines, flying leads, hydraulic lines, capillary tubing, electrical lines, and tubing encapsulated conductor (TEC) lines. RathGibson’s tubing alloys for downhole use include 825, 316L, Duplex 2205, Super Duplex 2507, and 625. RathGibson’s zinc clad lean duplex nitronic 19D, 316L, and Super Duplex 2507 alloys have been used.
