PTG purchases Amtech assets

The Phillips Tube Group, manufacturers of high quality, welded steel tubing, has recently announced that it has purchased the assets of Amtech (American Metal Technology, Inc.) located in Pell City, AL. This acquisition gives Phillips Tube Group (PTG) expanded capabilities in small diameter stainless tube as well as value added capabilities. The new Company is named Phillips Tube Group of Alabama (PTG-AL).

Amtech has been a long term supplier of small diameter specialty Stainless products and carbon and stainless tube fabricated components to the automotive and HVAC industries. Now known as PTG-AL, the company will continue its current production and focus its growth on supporting services to the other PTG facilities and filling up capacity in carbon and stainless tube.

Phillips Tube Group is led by Angela Phillips, who took over as President and CEO of the Companies after the passing of her father Ralph Phillips in 2009. She states, “This acquisition gives PTG a strong presence in the automotive “hot-bed” region of Central Alabama. At PTG, we look forward to bringing our combined expertise to the automotive suppliers located in this growing southern region.”
