PT Antam to set up a ferronickel plant

PT Aneka Tambang has announced plans to ink an agreement with China-based Baosteel Group to set up a ferronickel plant in Kalimantan. Ms Gita Wiryawan principal of Indonesia’s Coordinating Board for Investment said that the two companies would sign the agreement soon or later this July. Poured by USD 1.2 billion, the ferronickel plant is scheduled with annual capacity of 500,000tns. Construction will be started later this year.
