Precision stainless project

Taiyuan Iron & Steel has begun the construction of a cold rolled precision stainless strip project with an annual capacity of 20,000tns in the Shanxi province of China. It will cost Taiyuan a total of RMB1.02 billion to build 2 precision strip mills with two pickling lines, a skin pass mill, a tension leveler and 2 slitting and a shearing line. The expected cold rolled strip ranges from 0.03-0.3mm thickness and 10-610mm width. The new mills are scheduled to be commissioned in October 2009.
