Powder metallurgy conference

This year’s Euro PM 2003 Conference and Exhibition took place in the historic city of Valencia, Spain, from 20–22 October with the theme of “Meeting the Challenges of a Changing Market Placeâ€?. It included delegates from some 40 countries in all, including the Far East, Africa and the Americas, with more than 500 participants. The event also included an exhibition with over 60 booths covering companies from all parts of the PM supply chain. During the Congress plenary session EPMA President Dr Cesar Molins presented the EPMA Distinguished Service Award for 2003 to Dr Enrico Mosca formerly of Olivetti and more recently Secretary of Assinter, the Italian PM Association, for his exceptional services to the powder metallurgy industry. Dr Molins also presented an EPMA honorary membership to Mr Per Lindskog of Ductil SA for his invaluable support for the Association. In addition four EPMA Innovation Awards were presented to Parmaco AG of Switzerland, the Fraunhofer Institute/IFAM in Bremen, Germany, Osterwalder AG of Switzerland and Advanced Materials Technologies Ltd of Singapore.
Work is already under way for the PM 2004 World Congress & Exhibition, to be held in Vienna, Austria from 17–21 October 2004.
