Possible FeNi stainless plant

Indonesia-based nickel producer PT Aneka Tambang has signed an agreement with China-based Tsingshan Holding Group to conduct a feasibility study on an integrated ferronickel stainless steel project in the Maluku province. The study is expected to be completed by August 2008. A power plant would be part of the project, which would be sited on Antam’s laterite ore concession on Obi Island.
