POSCO CEO urges increasing competitiveness

POSCO CEO Kwon Ohjoon inspected leading production corporations, Guangdong Pohang Automotive Steel Corporation and Zhangjiagang Pohang Stainless Steel Corporation in China in order to encourage their executives and staff members.

He said during his visit that he was very impressed by the improvement in profit and competitiveness achieved by local and dispatched staff. He also asked them to devote more efforts to creating customer value based on solution marketing and to take pride as part of a global company. He emphasised the need for greater efforts to solve the difficulties clients face and for increasing the diversity of products produced by POSCO. He asked not only staff working in sales, but also staff in production-based roles in foreign countries to do their best for solution marketing activities. He also asked local staff to seek solutions to enhance the efficiency of investments and the operation rate of facilities, as well as to improve the quality of life for themselves.

Kwon Ohjoon also visited Shagang Group and exchanged opinions on the cooperation plans of the two companies with the president, Shen Wenrong.

Prior to visiting foreign corporations, Kwon Ohjoon participated in the 2014 APEC CEO Summit in Beijing.
