Pollution control for Finnish stainless plants

ALSTOM has recently won two orders in Finland to supply air pollution control systems. The first order is for a Fabric Filter for the Mixer Secondary Ventilation System at the Rautaruukki Raahe Steel Plant in Raahe, on the west coast of Finland. This order adds an additional fabric filter to an earlier installation by ALSTOM in 1997. Rautaruukki, a specialised steel product manufacturer, has facilities in 17 European countries. It is the biggest European manufacturer of construction products (steel roofing, wall structures and elements, etc.). Rautaruukki is also one of the largest manufacturers of welded steel tubes and hollow sections, as well as one of the largest European manufacturers of coated steel sheet products. The second order, also for a Fabric Filter and Ducting, is for the AvestaPolarit Stainless Oy, Tornio Works in Finland. The order is part of the “Susan” project (Sulaton Saneeraus) which involves the rebuilding of the existing Melting Shop Line 1.
