Plastic pneumatic actuator

Swagelok has announced that its patented DR series radial diaphragm valve is now available with a polyethersulfone (PES) actuator, which it claims offers excellent resistance to caustic wash-down. In addition, the live-loaded body seal controls cold flow of the PTFE diaphragm and maintains the body seal during cycling. Other benefits claimed for the PES actuator include: high-quality material compliant with Food and Drug Administration requirements; steam-in-place capability; long cycle life. The plastic pneumatic actuator is available for use with stainless steel Swagelok(R) DR series radial diaphragm valves in 1/2, 3/4, and 1-inch models.
