Plans for refinery in Vietnam

Vietnam is mulling plans to build a second oil refinery in its northern Thanh Hoa province, adding to capacity at a refinery now under construction in Dung Quat. The project is being co-funded by state-owned PetroVietnam and Russia’s Zarubeznheft. When fully operational the USD 1.3 billion complex is expected to refine 6.5 million tons of crude oil each year. A second refinery in northern Thanh Hoa would help raise economic activity in a relatively poor part of the country.
