Jacobs Engineering Group Inc. has announced that a subsidiary company received a contract from Janssen Pharmaceuticals Ltd to provide engineering services for the development of a new three Production Module active pharmaceutical ingredients (API) manufacturing facility at Janssen’s existing site at Little Island, County Cork, Ireland. Officials did not disclose the contract value. Jacobs has a strong relationship with Janssen and its parent company, Johnson & Johnson, in the USA and Europe, and has supported them locally at the Little Island site since 1996. Jacobs will design the facility to meet any future production and expansion requirements. Janssen will use its new production facility for the expanded manufacture of existing products and one new aseptic API product.
