Petrobras honoured for its contribution to shipping

Petrobras was felicitated at the third edition of Naval Award for Quality and Sustainability (PNQS) for the contribution to the shipping industry in Brazil. The company was represented at the event by the advisor to the president for local content and Prominp (Mobilization Program for the National Oil and Natural Gas Industry), Paul Alonso. The award ceremony was held at the Jockey Club in Rio de Janeiro.

In his speech, the president of the National Union for the Construction and Offshore Shipbuilding and Repair Industry (Sinaval), Ariovaldo Rock, thanked Petrobras for their orders to the industry. “Quality and sustainability are the watchwords of this company who practices and sends out these values in their activities,” he said.

Sérgio Machado, president of Petrobras Transport (Transpetro), who was also honoured, remembered that in 2003, when the decision was taken to revitalize the Brazilian shipbuilding industry, many people did not believe that this resurgence was possible, but today, the segment employed 70,000 people.

Eduardo Musa, Director of Sete Brasil, the executive director of the Acúrcio Rodrigues de Oliveira Foundation (Aro), Marcos de Oliveira and the wholesale superintendent of Banco do Brasil, Eduardo Krieck also attended the event among others.
