PAS to modernise propylene oxide plant

Plant Automation Services Inc. (PAS) has received an automation contract from Contech Control Services Inc. for the complete automation and control systems modernisation of a propylene oxide plant owned by the Lyondell Chemical Company in Bayport, Texas. This multi-million dollar project will include the installation of a Honeywell TPS distributed control system, a Triconex shutdown system, an Applied Automation Analyser System, Fisher Rosemount field instrumentation, and an AspenTech IP21 process historian. Contech will serve as the prime contractor, and as such will be responsible for the complete engineering, procurement, and construction activities. Under an alliance arrangement between Contech and PAS, the automation systems engineering and subsystem integration will be provided by PAS.
