Paper mill in China

Guangxi Nanning East Asia Sugar Group, a Thai sugar-miller operating in China, plans to invest THB 400–500 million to establish a pulp and paper plant. The primary goal of the plan is to use the by-products of sugar processing, particularly bagasse, the dry pulpy residue left after the extraction of juice from sugar cane, as a raw material in the paper manufacturing process. Details of the plan are expected to be finalised by the end of the year, with completion of the paper mill expected within the next two years. Production capacity is said to reach 50,000 to 60,000 tpy, using 100,000 tonnes of cane fibre from the sugar mill.
