Pakistan: hydropower plant

The Private Power and Infrastructure Board (PPIB) has invited proposals from foreign and domestic investors for setting up a 655MW Suki Kinari hydropower plant in Pakistan. The proposed dam site for the hydropower project is located on Kunhar River, some six km upstream of village Kaghan with a catchment area of 1,350km. The plant will generate about 2,750GWh of energy. The project will be connected to the national grid at Mansehra, Garhi Habibullah and Abbotabad. The proposals have been invited through international advertisement and the last date for submission of proposals is 10 June, 2005.
