The Board of Oyu Tolgoi appointed Andrew Woodley as president and CEO after Craig Kinnell announced his departure from the role for personal reasons.
Woodley is currently M.D. of Rio Tinto’s coal business in Mozambique. He has worked for Rio Tinto for over 18 years in different areas including Aluminium and Coal, as well as being the executive assistant to the CEO and chairperson. He will relocate to Ulaanbaatar to take up this position.
Kinnell will be returning to the United Kingdom and will take up a new role at Rio Tinto yet to be announced November 2014. Woodley will in October to allow for a comprehensive handover.
