AvestaPolarit Oyj ABP has been informed by Outokumpu Oyj that its ownership in AvestaPolarit has increased to 87.9% (306,828,231 shares), following the settlement of the share deal between Outokumpu Oyj and Corus Group plc. As part of the deal, title to the 80,882,090 AvestaPolarit shares previously held by Corus has been passed to Outokumpu Oyj. AvestaPolarit also received notices from Mr. Tony P. Pedder and Mr. David M. Lloyd, both Corus’s executives, of their resignation from the AvestaPolarit Board of Directors as of 14 August 2002.
