Orissa: steel plant

The Supreme Court of Orissa has given its nod to Tata Steel to go ahead with its steel plant project at Dubri in Jajpur district of Orissa, which was unable to take off because of the dispute on land allotment with the Kalinga Power Corp. Ltd. While allowing Tata Steel to construct the 6 million ton plant, a Bench headed by Ho’ble Chief Justice RC Lahoti said the steel company could commence its project at its risk at the disputed site subject to the outcome of the petition pending before it.
