In response to the critical industry need for skilled machinists, Climax Portable Machine Tools announces its 2011 Training Schedule featuring classes and programs in the use and save operation of heavy-duty portable machine tools. Courses can be customized depending on customer needs, and can take place either at the Climax Global Learning Center in Newberg, Oregon, at the customer’s location, or now, via Skype. With a Skype connection, machinists around the world can interact face-to-face with the trainer, get live demonstrations of how to operate equipment, and ask questions in real time. In addition, online training eliminates travel time and related expenses. Climax courses are available for all machinist skill levels and are designed to help them complete on-site machining tasks safely, quickly and to the highest quality standards. Courses include introduction to basic on-site machine tool operation, advanced techniques and applications, and Train-the-Trainer Programs that allow trained individuals to pass on their skills to other machinist. Students are encouraged to bring specific application needs to the class for discussions with the instructor. These training sessions are taught by a team of dedicated instructors with specialized experience in the shipbuilding industry. More information can be found on the website.
