Oman strengthens partnership with China’s Tsingshan

Dr Saleh Said Masan, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Investment Promotion for Commerce and Industry, has conducted an extensive field visit to the complexes of the “Tsingshan Holding Group” in the People’s Republic of China.

This visit serves to implement the objectives of the “Industrial Strategy 2040,” which aims to transform the manufacturing sector into a primary driver of economic diversification. The visit activates the cooperation program, seeking to accelerate the executive steps for establishing the first integrated system for the green steel industry and downstream industries in the Sultanate of Oman.

The tour included visits to the group’s lithium battery production and energy storage system complexes, where the Undersecretary was briefed on the latest smart production lines used by the company to supply global markets with renewable energy solutions.

This step reflects Oman’s desire to localize clean energy supply chains, as battery technology is a fundamental pillar for supporting green hydrogen projects and ensuring the sustainability of the electrical grid, in addition to being an essential element in the future of the electric vehicle industry targeted by the Industrial Strategy 2040.
