Olympic Steel names new GM of Schaumburg operation

Olympic Steel, a US-based metals service centre, promoted Andrew Wolfort to general manager of the company’s operation in Schaumburg, Illinois, effective immediately.

Wolfort initially joined Olympic Steel in 2005 as a general labourer in the company’s Cleveland warehouse facility. He returned to the company in a full-time capacity in 2007 working as an inside sales representative at the Schaumburg facility. He began his most recent role as regional sales manager in 2011; and, was based at the company’s Gary, Indiana, facility where he was instrumental in the start-up of Olympic Steel’s newest temper mill.

As general manager – Schaumburg, Wolfort will report to Andrew Greiff, president – Specialty Metals.
