Olympic Steel gets new GM for Winder operation

Olympic Steel, a US metals service centre, announced that Sean Heenan has been named general manager of the company’s operation in Winder, Georgia, effective April 2015.

Heenan began his steel industry career in 1994 as management associate at United States Steel Corporation. He quickly progressed to the position of outside sales representative before joining Olympic Steel in 1999 as e-Commerce manager. In 2001, Heenan was hired by IPSCO Steel (later acquired by SSAB) where he served as sales manager. Heenan returned to Olympic Steel in 2007 and held the position of regional sales manager until being promoted in 2010 to his most-recent position as general manger of the company’s Schaumburg, Illinois, facility. In his new role, he will report to John Brieck, vice president – Southern Region.
