Olympic Steel has appointed John Howard to the newly created position of Director, Operational Excellence.
Howard has been has been working as a consultant with the company to enhance growth and profitability by implementing operations methodology. In this new role, he will be responsible for the strategic development, tactical program management, facility deployment, systems integration and financial results consistent with operational excellence.
“John has been charged with strengthening and aligning the enterprise with the chairman’s objectives and the vision of the company’s executive officers. We look forward to his future contributions”, said Olympic Steel President and COO David Wolfort.
Additional management promotions were also announced at Cleveland Operations. Zach Siegal has been promoted to the role of General Manager–Cleveland. In his new role, Siegal will report to John Mooney, vice president–Eastern Region. Matt Kapusta has been promoted as the purchasing manager–Cleveland. He will be responsible for procuring raw material for the company’s carbon steel processing locations in Ohio, Pennsylvania and Kentucky. Kapusta will report to Zach Siegal, general manager–Cleveland.
