Nucor Corp. has announced that it has signed a Purchase Agreement to acquire substantially all the assets of Metal Recycling Services Inc. (MRS) based in Monroe, North Carolina, USA. MRS, founded in 1999, operates a full-service processing facility (including an automobile shredder) and two North Carolina feeder yards. MRS employs 150 people and expects to process 220,000tns annually. The acquisition is expected to close within 30 days subject to the completion of due diligence and other closing conditions.
