Nucor appoints John H. Walker as lead director

Nucor Corporation has announced the appointment of John H. Walker to serve as lead director of the board of directors effective February 22, 2017. Mr. Walker has served as a member of Nucor’s board of directors since 2008 and has more than 30 years of experience in metal-related manufacturing and fabricating industries.

Mr. Walker served as non-executive chairman of Global Brass and Copper, Inc. since March 2014, was executive chairman of Global Brass and Copper from November 2013 to March 2014 and was Chief Executive Officer from 2007 to March 2014.

Nucor and its affiliates are manufacturers of steel products, with operating facilities primarily in the U.S. and Canada. Products produced include carbon and alloy steel — in bars, beams, sheet and plate; hollow structural section tubing; etc. Nucor, through The David J. Joseph Company, also brokers ferrous and nonferrous metals, pig iron and HBI/DRI; supplies ferro-alloys; and processes ferrous and nonferrous scrap. Nucor is North America’s largest recycler.
