Nippon Steel & Sumitomo Metal Corporation (NSSMC) and Sumitomo Corporation jointly received the Wells Equipment Supplier of the Year Award from Shell Group. Only one company (or jointly with a partner company) is selected for this award once a year.
The Wells Equipment Supplier Award is given to suppliers who have made significant contributions to Shell’s petroleum/gas drilling business. At this time NSSMC was commended for its excellent capabilities in high-quality product development, on-time delivery, and global provision of best practices that satisfy needs of each region. This year the award was given jointly to NSSMC and Sumitomo Corporation, who received the award for the second time, following their first award received in 2015.
NSSMC and Sumitomo Corporation have maintained relationships regarding oil country tubular goods for more than 40 years with Shell and have contributed to Shell’s business by proposing total solutions which include stable supply of high-performance OCTGs, development of new products which match specific needs of Shell, and solid delivery service by use of Supply Chain Management.
