NSSMC and UTC2 sign steel structure memorandum

Nippon Steel & Sumitomo Metal Corporation (NSSMC) and joint stock company UTC2, a technical consulting company whose parent equity-holder is the University of Transport and Communications (UTC) of Vietnam, have executed a memorandum respecting the spread of steel structures, aiming to spread the use of steel pipe piles, steel sheet piles and other steel structures in Vietnam.

The memorandum reflects Vietnam’s desire to use Japan’s high technology for the improvement of infrastructure and NSSMC’s desire to spread and expand the construction of steel structures. In future, UTC intends to work on the spread and expansion of steel structures in actual infrastructure projects, through UTC2, and NSSMC will supply high-quality products through Nippon Steel & Sumikin Pipe Vietnam (NPV), already operating in Vietnam. NSSMC will co-operate in Vietnam’s social capital improvement, in both product and technology, by offering opportunities for continued academic exchanges for UTC students and young front-line engineers.
