Northwest Pipe Company wins Davis Woodland Project

Northwest Pipe Company, an engineered welded steel pipe products company, was selected to provide 77,089ft of cement mortar-lined and tape-coated spiral welded pipe ranging from 24″ to 36″ in diameter for the Davis Woodland Water Supply Project. The pipeline is being constructed by Mountain Cascade out of Livermore, California. The pipeline will transport raw water from the Sacramento River and provide an expanded infrastructure capacity to this Northern California region.

“The Davis Woodland project was a very unique project as it utilised the Design-Build-Operate (DBO) procurement method for one of the largest 2015 pipeline jobs in the State of California”, said Scott Montross, president and CEO of Northwest Pipe Company. CH2M Hill is leading the design and construction management effort for the project and Mountain Cascade will lead the pipe installation.

“The ability of Northwest Pipe to work through numerous design modifications quickly and provide cost saving recommendations proved Northwest Pipe Company to be a valuable partner”, added Duke Fuller, president of Mountain Cascade.

The pipeline installation is anticipated to commence by the end of March 2015 and be in operation by the middle of 2016. The water supply will be owned by the Woodland-Davis Clean Water Agency.
