OMV (Austria) claims it has found a "significant" amount of oil and natural gas in its offshore exploration block, named Rosebank/Lochnagar, in the Faroe/Shetland Channel. The firm said the oil it discovered in a deposit 160ft thick was of high quality. OMV plan more drilling in an attempt to determine the exact size of the deposit.
