NLMK automotive sheets clear BSI audit

NLMK Group’s Lipetsk [N4] site cleared its recertification audit confirming compliance of its output with the ISO/TS 16949:2009 international standard for its quality management systems. This certification pertains to the particular requirements for the application of ISO 9001:2008 for automotive production and relevant service part organisations. British Standards Institution (BSI) experts examined the working documentation and technological processes that confirm metal quality testing at all stages of production.

Novolipetsk supplies hot-rolled pickled, cold-rolled and galvanised flat steel to automotive industry companies for the manufacture of car body parts. BSI endorsed the Novolipetsk quality management systems and acknowledged their compliance with international requirements for the manufacture of products intended for automotive industry.

The BSI certificate, valid for three years, covers the production of slabs, hot-rolled and cold-rolled flats of carbon, and low-alloy steels in coils and sheets, including galvanised products for the automotive industry, and the development of new products.

Novolipetsk was the first Russian steelmaker to have its quality management system certified as compliant with the requirements of the ISO/TS 16949 International Standard in 2004. Subsequently, the company successfully passed its recertification audits in 2007 and 2010.
