Nippon Steel Corporation has received the Derwent Top 100 Global Innovator 2020 Award for the eighth consecutive year. The award recognises innovative companies and institutions by analysis of the trend in intellectual property and patents, based on the patent data owned by Clarivate Analytics.
This award, now in its ninth year, gives recognition to companies and institutions which have protected and commercialised unique innovative achievements as intellectual property. Nippon Steel is the only steel company given an award for the eighth consecutive year, from 2012.
It aims at contributing to the progress of society through the pursuit of world-leading technology development and manufacturing strength, and activities that match the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), in particular the Goal 9 of building infrastructure for industrialization and innovation.
