Nexans wins umbilicals contract

BP Exploration Operating Company Ltd of Aberdeen awarded Nexans a EUR 14 million contract to deliver a subsea umbilical system for the Devenick gas field in the North Sea. Located 37km north of the East Brae platform in the North Sea, 280km from the coast of Scotland, the Devenick gas field is a high pressure, high temperature, gas condensate field. The Devenick reservoir is BP operated and sits within blocks 9/24b and 9/29a. Nexan’s development umbilical system will consist of four umbilicals; one SSIV (Subsea Isolation Valve) umbilical, one main umbilical and two infield umbilicals. Manufactured at Nexan’s factory in Halden, Norway, the umbilicals will be delivered in spring 2011. Supplementary fiberoptic and electrical elements will be supplied from Nexans’ factory in Rognan, Norway.
