New tube pickling plant in Sandviken

A groundbreaking ceremony was recently held for the new pickling plant at the hot production flow for tube manufacturing in Sandviken for Sandvik Materials Technology. With a custom-made shovel, Project Manager Christina Anttila made the first dig together with Michael Andersson, Head of Product Area Tube, Ulrika Silver Supply Manager Tube, and President Petra Einarsson, Sandvik Materials Technology. The new pickling line will be up and running by the end of 2017.

The facility will be 6000 square meters, about the size of a football field. Almost all tubes produced in Sweden pass through the pickling process step, making this a very important investment that will ensure the stability and quality of tube production. The plant will be state of the art technology and two of the main advantages are a safer working environment and environmentally friendly processes.
