New temperature sensor

IFM Electronics has released its new TAD series temperature sensor. The temperature sensor has two different sensor elements that monitor each other while temperature sensing ensures that a developing sensor drift is immediately detected and diagnosed. Cyclical calibration, which in the end provides no absolute security since the sensors used are only checked selectively, is thus not necessary. Furthermore, if one element fails, the process continues with the second measuring element (backup function). Via the diagnostic output of the sensor possible error states are directly transmitted to the higher-level controller. A failure warning and switch-off threshold is defined via the software. The sensor covers a temperature range of -10-150C and is resistant to extremes of -25-170C for a short time. The evaluation accuracy is 0.2K in the range of -10-100 C and 0.3K for 100-150C. The housing of the TAD series temperature sensor is completely closed and welded in high-grade stainless steel.
