New Shell CEO plans reorganization

According to Shell critic John Donovan, the new CEO of Royal Dutch Shell, Peter Voser, who will take over from Jeroen van der Veer as Chief Executive Officer on 1st July 2009, has announced plans for a major reorganization of the company, with more than 30% of senior managers and directors being axed. Besides the departure of 30% of senior managers the plan is said to include a merger of two divisions: Exploration & Production and Shell Gas & Power. The announcement was made on 28 May at a meeting of hundreds of senior managers of the company in Berlin. The departure of Alexandra Cook could be just the beginning of “dramatic changes” at Shell.
