New service center in Grande Prairie

Tenaris has recently declared that it will open a new service center in Grande Prairie, AB, in late 2016, to better serve its oil and gas customers in the Duvernay and Montney formations of western Canada. From this center, and once fully operational, Tenaris will provide Rig Direct™ services, including the inspection, preparation, delivery and return of pipes and accessories, ensuring just-in-time delivery and reduction of inventory on the ground while applying the highest standards of QHSE. The center – a multi-year planned investment of USD 20M – will handle the supply of oil country tubular goods and accessories plus sucker rods and coiled tubes.

“We are investing in infrastructure that allows us to change the way we get our products to market,â€? said Guillermo Moreno, Tenaris Vice President and Managing Director, Canada. “Combining our domestic manufacturing with regional service centers, we are able to strengthen our management of the supply chain and create efficiencies for our customers, saving them time and money.â€?

The Grande Prairie service center will complement Tenaris’ existing pipe manufacturing facilities in Canada, creating a new model for customer service. Through its Rig Direct™ service, Tenaris synchronizes the supply chain to feed rigs in real time, reducing costs and working capital and making operations more efficient.
