CH2M Hill and partner Critigen were chosen to design the installation of the U.S. Department of Energy’s Argus security system at a nuclear fuel fabrication facility in South Carolina. The two companies will deliver end-to-end security systems engineering for the National Nuclear Security Administration’s Mixed Oxide Fuel Fabrication Facility at DOE’s Savannah River site.
CH2M Hill is responsible for the architectural and engineering facility and infrastructure design, and for specification of physical and electronic security equipment. Critigen is providing project management, network and security design, specification and systems integration.

DOE’s Argus security system is an integrated physical and electronic security system for protection of high-consequence U.S. government assets which includes, but is not limited to, nuclear materials. Argus provides intrusion detection and access control functions and supports closed circuit television assessment. The system was originally developed at the Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory in 1988.
