Perryman Co., Houston, Pennsylvania, USA, has placed an order with Kocks Pittsburgh Co., Pittsburgh, PA, a subsidiary of Friedrich Kocks GmbH & Co KG, Hilden, Germany, for a 215mm Reducing & Sizing Block [RSB] in C-module design. This RSB will be manufactured in an 8-stand configuration but prepared for a future expansion to a 10-stand operation, thus increasing the ability of the mill to adapt to future changes of the market. The Kocks RSB takes advantage of the 3-roll technology to produce a wide range of wire rod and bar sizes with very close tolerances. The enhanced rolling mill will enable Perryman Company to roll a range of titanium and titanium alloy round products from 5.0mm diameter coil to 50.0mm diameter bar. The new equipment should be fully operational by late 2005.
