After announcing back in April that new premises had been sourced, Metals UK were forced back to the drawing board. Originally the plan was to take a 30 000 sq ft size facility in Heywood Manchester but new aerospace team Lee Nicklin, Asier Gonzales and Matt O’Garr were certain the company would need more space. “They forced us to reconsider our needs and it became clear that we had underestimated our requirement for space.” The deal is now done and the company get the keys to their new 40 000 sq ft premises in Blackburn on 3 October 2006.
