New Mackay branch

In July 2010 Sandvik Mining and Construction will open a service and support branch in Mackay (Australia), catering for the booming Central Queensland coal industry. The new premises will run in addition to the Brisbane office, and will help support the company’s growing fleet of equipment going into operation in the region. Located in Paget, just south of Mackay city, the facilities include two large workshops, a machine shop, paint bay, a high-bay warehouse and office facilities. Consisting of more than 3000sq/m of workshop floorspace, the new branch facilities allow Sandvik to carry out a full range of rebuild and repair work on a wide variety of equipment. Other service facilities include a machine shop, field service support storage, a separate 15m by 9m washbay with high-pressure hot and cold water, and a brake-testing area. The new facilities will officially be opened during the Queensland Mining and Engineering Expo, to be held from 27-29 July at the Mackay Showground.
