The investment of CZK 1.1B was finalized by the subsidiary of Třinecké železárny. Rigid regulations to control emissions are now fulfilled by the new ecological boiler of Energetika Třinec. Modern equipment has replaced the obsolete boiler which does not fulfil the requirements for an environmentally friendly combustion process. The new fluid layer boiler with an indication NK14 produces a maximum of 10mg of dust emissions per m3. “According to the Directive we have to reduce dust emissions to 20 mg/m3 within the coal combustion since the 2016. The new facility produces significantly lower dust emissions using the same boiler power, which is 125 tonnes of steam per hour,” explains the Director of Energetika Třinec Mr Petr Matuszek. The boiler makes use of the circulating fluid layer technology. Apart from the black and brown coal and blast furnace gas, the new NK14, co-incinerates even the biomass (wood chips) to a maximum of 30% of the heat input. An investment of CZK 362M was supported by a grant from the operational program of the State Environmental Fund. The remaining funds were invested by the company from their own resources and investment loans.
