Dr. Ir. A.W. (Aad) Veenman will step down from his position as chairman of the Board of Management of Stork NV with effect from 1 September 2002. Effective from the same date, Drs. Sj.S. (Sjoerd) Vollebregt will become the new chairman of the Board of Management. After sixteen years in management functions at Stork, during which he has been a member of the Board of Management for the last 12 years and chairman since 1998, Dr. Veenman will leave the company on 31 October. In recent months a difference of opinion has arisen between the Supervisory Board and Dr. Veenman. As a result of this situation Dr. Veenman has decided to resign from his position. The members of the Supervisory Board have accepted his resignation, and wish to express their gratitude to Dr. Veenman for his efforts on behalf of the company over the last 16 years. Dr. Veenman will remain available until 1 November to ensure a smooth transfer of his tasks and responsibilities to Mr. Vollebregt. The Central Works Council has responded positively to the appointment of Mr. Vollebregt.
